The Project
2026
The Project is the debut novel by British journalist, Vogue dating columnist, and author Annie Lord.
A romcom, The Project examines modern dating from a female perspective as we follow Daisy and her best friend Maya, who navigate their 20s in London.
I was approached by Penguin Random House and Vintage Books to work with their marketing team on the visual direction and delivery of the promotional campaign.
The cover had already been designed; as a result, the lollipops and colour palette worked as the central elements to build an identity around.

With many of the book's characters in their 20s and key moments taking place at parties, I wanted the campaign to look fun and feel visually unconventional for literature marketing.
The first phase of the project involved designing POS items such as limited-edition proof cover options, stickers, and rave fans. This set the tone early on through expressive typography and bold, vibrant colours.

For the OOH deliverables, I wanted the campaign photography to feel messy with shots set in the detritus of the before or afters of a party. With having a clear idea in my head came a different challenge.
With limited budget a shoot would be too expensive so I sourced some stylised stock photography and composited the book into them.
